How Does Invisalign Work?
Properly aligned, straight teeth are not only beautiful — they are also more comfortable, healthier, and much easier to maintain. Orthodontic issues, like an improper bite and crooked teeth, can lead to long-term dental concerns that may lead to other oral health problems and discomfort. As an alternative to traditional braces, our experienced orthodontists are pleased to offer Invisalign clear, removable aligners for tweens, teens, and adults in Wyomissing and Reading, PA. Made custom to fit your teeth and your unique needs, Invisalign is a comfortable and highly discreet orthodontic solution. These computer-generated teeth aligners are removable to make eating and caring for your teeth easy and more comfortable. If you or your family members are interested in getting straighter teeth with the Invisalign or Invisalign Teen system, schedule a consultation at Grove Dental Group and Orthodontics. Our team is proud to be a Diamond Plus Invisalign provider and can help you determine if this advanced solution is right for your smile.
Invisalign for Teens
Designed specifically for the unique needs of adolescents, Invisalign Teen may be an ideal choice for a number of patients. These clear aligners are custom made for each individual and contain a number of features to enhance the orthodontic treatment process and end results, including lower jaw advancement. Invisalign Teen aligner trays also contain compliance indicators on each appliance, which are blue dots of color that fade when used properly. This helps keep your teen on track with their orthodontic care and motivated to achieve the straight, confident smile they desire.
"My initial appointment and cleaning went great. The staff , hygienist's, and doctors's were very pleasant and answered all the questions I had. The cleaning was the most in depth cleaning I've ever received , and the doctor took her time to sand down an old filling without any extra charge outside of the cleaning. I was made aware of many "little" things about my teeth and gums that I was not aware of before and there was no push from any staff to get extra work done that wasn't needed. The office , waiting room, and rooms in the back were very well kept and comfortable. Located in a very nice neighborhood. I would absolutely recommend to anyone looking for a dentist!"- R.V. / Yelp / Mar 06, 2020

"Once again i was nervous. I broke a filling. I KNOW BETTER. ITS GROVE DENTAL!!! Painless. Courteous. Explanatory. On time. Honest to God friendly and concerned about your fears and questions. Arrived 4:30. Examined. Discussed my options. I chose a crown. Staff came in to explain what insurance pays and what i pay. Got a wonderful topical prior to novocane stick. No pain. Took out old filling. Got temp crown shaped and put on. Out the door at 5:45. It doesnt get better than that. Try Grove for a cleaning. Start slow. You wont be sorry. Is Invisalign Right for You?
There are multiple factors that can determine the alignment of your teeth, including thumb-sucking as a child, genetics, missing a tooth or teeth, and trauma to your face. Misaligned teeth can affect your ability to bite and chew with ease and can lead to a number of oral health concerns, including uneven wear on the enamel, gum recession, increased risk for gum disease and cavities, and jaw pain. Invisalign can be used to treat a wide variety of minor or complex orthodontic needs, including:
- Open bite
- Crooked teeth
- Gapped teeth
- Narrow arches
Even though the aligners do need to be worn for most of the day, Invisalign may be taken out for eating and brushing your teeth, as well as for special events, when playing sports, or musical instruments. There are also no dietary limitations, allowing you to eat what you like without concern. Invisalign offers such a discreet way to straighten teeth, your family and friends will usually not be able to tell that you are wearing clear aligner trays!
Invisalign What Is the Treatment Process?
To begin the process, our team will take digital impressions of your mouth, which a special Invisalign dental lab will use to customize and craft your clear aligners. When they are ready, you will return to our practice to receive your trays along with instructions on how to wear and care for them. You should keep your aligners in for at least 20 – 22 hours every day for the system to be effective, ideally taking them out only for eating and cleaning your teeth. Every couple of weeks, you will move to the next set of aligner trays in your series as they carefully shift your teeth into proper alignment. We will have you visit Grove Dental Group and Orthodontics every 4 – 6 weeks so that we can track your tooth movement and progress. The length of time that you need to use Invisalign will vary based on your orthodontic needs and cosmetic goals, but many patients wear trays for about 1 – 2 years.
After Your Invisalign Treatment
As soon as your teeth are in alignment, it is important to keep them from shifting back to their original position. Vivera® retainers by Invisalign are made from the same comfortable materials to help keep your teeth in place once your treatment is finished. Every retainer is made custom at the Invisalign dental lab from digital impressions taken after your orthodontic treatment is complete. We will let you know how many hours a day you should wear your retainer, as well as how to clean your appliance each day. Our dentists will continue to evaluate your teeth alignment and bite during your dental exams to ensure your teeth stay in their new place.
Insurance Coverage for Invisalign
Many dental insurance plans offer coverage for orthodontic care, including Invisalign. After your initial consultation, we will review your coverage and figure out any personal costs. Grove Dental Group and Orthodontics accepts numerous payment options and can help you apply for interest-free financing through CareCredit or Wells Fargo.
