The Need For Mentorship

This spring, Dr. Jeff traveled to Philadelphia to speak with student members of the American Student Dental Association (ASDA) at Temple University. His talk covered the different career options that await the dental students after graduation, as well as the business behind dentistry, and what it means to find mentorship in any business pursuit. Dr. Jeff’s guidance is critical for anyone seeking to run his or her own business or who wants to know about alternative career paths within the world of dentistry and beyond. Grove Dental Group is dedicated to ensuring continued mentorship, so Dr. Jeff invited the Temple students, as well as a group of Penn Dental students, to visit Grove Dental Group’s offices and learn more about its core values and operating practices.
On May 18, we had 15 Temple and Penn Dental students visit the Grove Dental office. Dr. Jeff spoke with the group about exploring business relationships and actively seeking mentorship. He advised students to “be a lifetime learner and ask lots of questions and… find great mentors.” Mentorship is valuable as it allows new entrants to the industry to gain more insights, earlier in their careers, than their predecessors. Dr. Jeff also advised the students to be intentional about becoming a business owner. He explained that as an associate it was imperative to work with someone not only eager to teach the clinical aspects of dentistry, but also someone was willing to discuss the ins and outs of how dental business actually work. This experience helped students become more aware of their future and how to take the proper steps to ensure a more comprehensive entry into the field. The trip concluded with lunch and tours of the office.One of the student visitors and Temple Dental student Angela Walter wrote an article about Dynamic Growth for Contour, the ASDA publication. Thanks to Dr. Jeff for always taking the time to give back to the next generation of top dentists!
Expansion of Grove Dental Group - On The Avenue
To further emphasize Dr. Jeff Grove’s point on running efficient businesses, he recently announced that Grove Dental Group would be expanding their practice to accommodate Grove’s increase in demand. Grove Dental Group will be opening up at their old location on 1286 Penn Ave in Wyomissing, PA to give more flexibility to his current patients and to give more options for incoming patients. Dr. Jeff took his audience on a video tour of the new location to add to the excitement about returning to their roots. This new location will have state of the art equipment and more opportunity for you to grow with us!
